Artist's Image of a Blazar
An artist has drawn this picture to give us an up-close view of the supermassive black hole swallowing material at the centre of a galaxy. As it tears material to pieces, the black hole is shooting high-energy jets towards Earth. We call this type of galaxy a Blazar and we've just found out they are shooting our super energetic particles called "neutrinos".
